NIGHTLIGHTS: A night-time women’s ministry – will be celebrating:

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER!! Friday, Oct. 9th at 7 p.m.

Yes we’re getting a jump-start on Christmas giving. That is – Giving to Operation Christmas Child. The tree will be trimmed, the cider hot and cookies baked for your enjoyment. We’re asking ladies to bring small toys or gifts for children to place under our tree for the shoebox ministry. Also, we invite you to join us in making simple tree ornaments for our annual Christmas Giving Tree. Each ornament will represent a Christmas toy or other need for a needy local family. If you have any questions please contact Brigitte Schlosser, leader. 633-3263 Bring a friend……or two!!!

WOMEN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS begins Sunday, Oct. 11th at 9:30 a.m.

The class is: “Prayer: God’s Invitation To You”. Leader: Alice Sozanski.

The class will be held in th room at the end of the hall downstairs.

THE CONTINENTALS (In Concert) are coming to Boothbay Baptist Church on Wed. October 14th, 7 p.m. You’ll experience a contemporary production featuring high-energy music, movement and media for the whole church family. PLEASE JOIN US FOR A POT LUCK DINNER PROMPTLY AT 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Bring a dish to share.

“HELP RAY (& FAY) DAY”
Sat, Oct. 17th at our house starting at 9 a.m. (Rain date Sat. Oct 24th)
Ray and Fay Christy need help to close in their shed before winter.

We will have a cookout at Noon and feed all the helpers – bring the kids – food is on us. Also, we have a load of stuff in our garage (due to our neighbors moving and giving us things they didn’t want to haul), so we are offering to let our helpers pick stuff they’d like or need from our garage stuff – for free (like a yard sale without the sale) and that will also help us clean out the garage for the winter! So bring hammers, tools, etc., and come bring the family for great fellowship, and be fed, and take some cool stuff home! Thank you for your help! Call if you can come: 633-9872 Ray & Fay

Quarterly Business Meeting: Oct. 21, 7 p.m. Fellowship Hall

Church Retreat – SAVE THE DATE!
Our church retreat this Fall will be on October 23 – 25 at Moose River Outpost located in Jackman, Maine. The cost is $80 per night including all meals for up to 3 people. Additional guests per family or group are $18 per day. The deadline for signing up will be Sunday September 27.

Trunk or Treat is coming again – Sat. , Oct 31st. 6 – 8 p.m. Halloween Eve!!

We want everyone to help participate in some big or small way this year. We need teams of helpers and folks to bring their non-gory decorated vehicles to church – loaded up with candy to hand out to the hundreds of children from the community. Last year there were well over 250 children!! Registration forms with specific information for all “trunkers” will need to be completed. They’ll be available after the first of Oct. Sponsored by Lights of Love Women’s Ministry. ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING: Thursday, Oct. 1 – 9:30 a.m. Fellowship Hall.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is kicking off again real soon.

In honor of our church’s 200th Anniversary our coordinators, Tom and Cathy Wilson, are planning to send 200 filled shoe boxes to children in third world countries. They need your HELP! Stay tuned – much more information is coming and you who are familiar with the program can begin collecting small toys, school supplies, etc, to fill shoeboxes for children who would normally have no Christmas.
