WELCOME TO WORSHIP SERVICE IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL.

SANCTUARY RENOVATION is two weeks along and great progress has been made, thank you Lord!  And thanks, too, to the volunteer workers and to those who have been bringing in food.  Please pray for the workers who have donated so much of their time, talent and physical labor.  If you feel led to bring in lunch food, snacks or suppers, please call Robin in the office; we would like to keep feeding the volunteers as long as they are working!

THE CHURCH OFFICE HAS MOVED!  The secretary’s office is now located on the lower level of the new parsonage, entered from the lower parking lot, next to the Pastor’s office.  New signage will be installed soon.

Thank you, Mark Kamen and Mike Roberts for helping with the move, and thank you, Dan and Mike Cusumano for fixing the wonderful $5 desk that is the centerpiece of the new office.

The office phone number and email address remain the same.  Church office hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Stop in and visit!

TRUNK OR TREAT!

Though the evening of Oct. 31st was chilly, the upper parking lot of BBC was warm with a couple hundred folks – kids, parents, grandparents, and friends from the community – who enjoyed Trunk or Treat with its decorated trunks, bounce house, face painting, games, and free hot dogs, chili dogs, chips, hot chocolate, iced tea, and, of course, plenty of treats.

HUGE THANK YOU’S go to Meredith Fowlie for coordinating and promoting the event with her contagious enthusiasm; to Dan Cusumano for setting up lighting, Justin Fowlie and Mike Roberts for grilling and setting up, Jason & Brigitte Schlosser for planning and offering games, Brian Pallotta for donating bags of chips, Daniel Bates for monitoring the bounce house, Nancy & John VanDyke and Mark and Pam Kamen for manning the welcome table, Mary Ann for making chili and serving food non-stop, Pastor Steve and Tim Beck for helping prior to and throughout the event; and thank you to the generous folks who donated money for the refreshments that were offered to participants compliments of the church, and especially thanks to  all those who decorated trunks and set the festive atmosphere for Trunk or Treat!  It was a great outreach to children and families who received tracts, kids’ Bibles and information about Word of Life, while enjoying fun and fellowship in a safe, wholesome environment.

As we look forward to Thanksgiving, let us consider:

How has God blessed our family this year?

CONGRATULATIONS to Lorraine Eberhardt, who was given the honor of being the first one in the new YMCA pool last week at its dedication ceremony.  Lorraine, a former synchronized swimmer who is 89 years young, has swum more miles in the past few months than many of us will ever swim in our lives!  We are constantly blessed by her sunny disposition and her faithfulness in prayer and attendance at church gatherings.

MISSIONARY NEWS

From Tim & Nancy Pierce (Baptist Mid-Missions, Brazil, now home):

… We continue to try and increase our speaking opportunities for sharing our burden for Brazil, the work on the field, and challenging hearts for missions. Trying to make personal contacts with pastors, we have now driven over 22,000 miles, mostly business miles.

… Our speaking and traveling will be on hold for a few months … as we both undergo surgery.  On Oct. 26 I (Tim) have back surgery to fuse two vertebrae together. [Note: we received an email that his surgery went well.] Then Nancy will have foot surgery Nov. 16 to fuse a couple of bones together and remove a bone spur on the top of her left foot.  …What a sight we will make, hobbling around together… For three months I am not allowed to drive, and I can only sit for 30 minutes in a straight chair once every two and a half hours! I am going to go crazy, and probably drive Nancy crazy too!

… We are grateful for your prayers about our financial situation.  The Lord touched an invidiual to help with a gift of $1,000!  We praise the Lord for this, but please continue to pray.  The home office has been patient with us, but would like to see us back in the black soon.

Thank you again for your continued prayer and faithful support. Pray for: recovery from surgeries, continued financial needs, and open doors for more meetings.

In Christ,

Tim & Nancy Pierce
